James E. Wise, Jr.
James E. Wise, Jr., 78, of Lock Haven, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Sept. 22, 1947, in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late James E. and Lois (Pluff) Wise, Sr.
Jim was a 1965 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School. He then joined the United States Air Force, serving for eight years during the Vietnam War.
Jim later reenlisted in the Army National Guard, retiring from the United States Military with 22 years of service.
Early on, Jim served as a Park Ranger at Half Way Dam. More recently, he was employed at Autoline and then First Quality until his retirement.
Jim was Methodist by faith.
He was a member of the VFW and Castanea Fire Hall.
While he enjoyed hunting, his true passion was fishing. Jim was an avid Penn State and Steelers fan. He also loved animals, having many pets throughout the years.
Most important to Jim, though, was his family — especially his grandchildren and great-grandson.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 17 years, Judy (Lamey) Wise, of Lock Haven; two children, Nancy Moore, of York, and Tommy (Colleen) Wise, of Lock Haven; a step-son, Gerald Kissell, Jr., of Lock Haven; a brother, Clyde (Kathy) Wise, of Beech Creek; grandchildren, Malique Wise (Sarah Wolf), Marlana Fells (Dylon Prugar), Darien D’Ercole, Dante Kissell and Devin George Kissell; his great-grandson, Jaylen Carter Wise; an aunt, Irene Messerly; a cousin, Art (Judy) Turner; and a nephew, Matt (Chrissy) Wise.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 47 Rest Haven Drive, Lock Haven, with Pastor Rick Conklin officiating. Military Honors will follow.
