Pauline A. (Fantaskey) McCauley, 80, died Saturday, Oct. 25, at Haven Place in Lock Haven.

She was born in Renovo to the late Paul and Genevieve “Babe” (Crossley) Fantaskey.

Pauline married Gene M. McCauley, Sr. in 1974, and they enjoyed 51 wonderful years together.

She graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic school in Renovo in 1963. She worked at Piper and a few different county government offices before retiring as the Clinton County Auditor.

Pauline was a member of the Swissdale United Methodist Church, and past treasurer of the Clinton County Fair. She enjoyed camping, going to yard sales and auctions, submitting entries into the fair exhibits, creating baskets and decorating for the holidays. Most of all, she loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pauline and Gene were foster parents for over 40 years, and had 86 children in their care, most of whom still called her mom.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons and three daughters: Don Troutman (Dana), of State College, Marty McCauley, (Michelle), of Lock Haven, Jason McCauley (Celissa), of Lock Haven, Joe Hanley (Amy), of Lock Haven, Jeanelle Troutman, of Lock Haven, Gina Fantaskey (Matt), of Worland, Wyo., and Anna Rozmakhova, of Moscow, Russia. She is also survived by her brother, Kenny Fantaskey (Marlene), of Coudersport, 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cliff and Paul Fantaskey.

A public viewing will take place on Friday, Oct. 31, at 3 p.m., at Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd, Mill Hall. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with her grandson, Pastor Clayton Hanley, of Pine Creek Valley Christian Church, officiating.
