RICHARD TYSON
Richard K. “Dick” Tyson, 90, of 44 Hillview Lane, Loganton, Pa., passed away at home on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025.
Born in Lock Haven, Pa., on July 27, 1935 he was the son of the late Sydney Brown and Lillian Mae (Leitch) Tyson.
He was a 1954 graduate of Lock Haven High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University in 1966.
Dick was an exterminator for Orkin, later owned his own company, Tyson Pest Control of Livonia, and retired from Penn State.
He was a former foster parent for Centre County Children and Youth Services and a former township supervisor for Miles Township.
Dick was a member of the Living Faith Ministries, Mill Hall, Pa. and the Rote Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with friends and family. He was an avid traveler, and especially enjoyed his time spent in Alaska.
He is survived by a daughter, Leanna J. Rockey (Robert), of Loganton; a son, Sydney D. Tyson (Tina), of Virginia Beach, Va.; his former spouse Doris Breon, of Loganton; a special friend Kathleen Wagner, of Loganton; five stepchildren, 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was predeceased in death by a son, Rickey Lee Tyson; wife, Alivina; a special friend, Momoyo “Peach”; and six siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025 at 7 p.m., in the Rote United Methodist Church, 102 Beagle Rd., Mill Hall, Pa., with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. A visitation will be held in the church on Friday from 6 p.m., until time of the service. Final Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations can made to the Rote United Methodist Church.
