LAURA HAZEL

Laura B. Hazel, 88, of Flemington, passed away on Dec. 15, 2025, at Haven Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lock Haven.

She was born in Lock Haven, Pa., to parents Cleo T. Hazel and Minnie Moore on June 28, 1937.

She attended Mill Hall High School and graduated in 1955. Laura worked at United Telephone for over 30 years, until they moved from the area.

After retirement, she enjoyed yard sales, traveling and camping at the Grange Fair. She was involved in her church, Mill Hall United Methodist, and the Christian Women’s Connection where she held an office.

Laura is survived by her brother, James (Carol) Hazel, of New Mexico; a brother-in-law, Richard Weaver, of Blanchard; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her four sisters, G. Louise (Paul) Spangler, Martha P. (Daniel) Walker, Mary L. (Charles) Zimmerman and Ethel M. Weaver; and three brothers, Charles C. Hazel, George H. (Virginia) Hazel and Frank R. Hazel.

Funeral services will be held at Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC., 320 Main St., Mill Hall, on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at 11 a.m., with retired Pastor Joan Gordon officiating.

Friends and family will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mill Hall United Methodist Church, 212 S. Danis St., Mill Hall, PA 17751.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Haven Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center as well as Residential Hospice Care for the care given to her during her stay at Haven Place. A special thank you to Pastor Mike with Hospice for his weekly visits, singing and praying with her.
