Matthew Kaschalk

Matthew Kaschalk

On Nov. 29, 2025, surrounded by love, Matthew Kaschalk, 40, of Bellefonte, Pa., completed his courageous journey after facing brain cancer with remarkable strength, grace and dignity.

Born on April 16, 1985, Matt was the beloved son of Henry and Mary Lee Kaschalk and a proud 2003 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School.

Matt is survived by his husband and soulmate, Toby Beach, with whom he shared a beautiful life and married on Aug. 30, 2025. Their home was filled with love, laughter and the constant presence of their four cherished dogs — Eva, Dally, Luna and Nova — always known as “the girls.”

Also surviving are his siblings, Leigh Nichols, Daniel (Christine) Kaschalk and Nicole Baldwin, who will forever miss his humor, compassion and the way he made everyone around him feel valued.

His nieces and nephews — Kenzie, Allie, Alayna, Trent, Christopher and Nicholas — will hold close the memories of an uncle who made every visit special.

Matt was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Peter and Rosie Polosky and Martin and Mildred Kaschalk.

Throughout his career at American Eagle, Ulta, Under Armour and UKG, Matt was admired not only for his dedication but for the kindness and joy he brought into the workplace. His shelves of awards and plaques reflect not just professional achievement, but the impact of a man who showed up every day with heart.

Matt loved deeply: his family, his friends and the simple moments — quiet nights in, spirited nights out, unexpected conversations, warm traditions. Christmas was his favorite time of year, a season that matched his love of connection and celebration.

Matt was a stranger to no one. In a single meeting, he could make you feel like old friends. His laughter, warmth and ability to brighten any room will remain his legacy.

He leaves behind a world better for having known him.

There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal rescue or welfare charity of your choice, in honor of Matt.
