Nevin L. Grove, Sr.

NEVIN GROVE, SR.

Nevin L. Grove, Sr., 94, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at Juniper Wellspring in State College. Born on July 16, 1931, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Edgar Grove and Helen Shuey. On Nov. 24, 1955, he married the love of his life, Joanna Grove, who preceded him in death on July 9, 2019, after sharing 63 years of marriage together.

Nevin proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from September 1950 until he was honorably discharged in August 1954. During his time in the service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Upon returning home, he spent his career working at Cerro Copper and Brass in Bellefonte for over 40 years.

He is survived by their five children, Barbara S. Dann (Tom), of Bellefonte, Martin B. Grove (Cathi), of Sacramento, Calif, Lisa A. Butler (Tom), of Bellefonte, Nevin L. Grove, Jr. (Ann), of Bellefonte, and Douglas C. Grove (Kristen), of Wichita, Kan. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Ryan and Eric Dann, Daniel, Issac (Kaitlyn), Caleb, Jonah, Joel, Sarah and Evan Grove and one great-grandchild, Thomas Dann. He is survived by his siblings, Mary Greene, Robert Shuey, Marjorie Waite, Marie Corrigan and Janice McDowell.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hannah Grove, and brother Paul.

He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Bellefonte for many years, serving on many committees including Session.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Andy Morgan officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Meyer Cemetery, Bellefonte.
