Dorsey ‘Butch’ L. Bibey, Jr.
Dorsey “Butch” L. Bibey, Jr., age 61, of Curwensville, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Tracy (Jones) Bibey, with whom he shared many wonderful years. Born in Renovo on Jan. 18, 1965, he was the son of the late Dorsey L. Bibey (Sr.) and Margaret (Sockman) Bibey.
Butch loved football and was a talented athlete. He began playing tackle football with the Little Steelers youth team and later competed for his high school team until graduating from Bucktail High School in Renovo in 1983. He was proud of his team and often bragged to his brothers about how much better his team was compared to theirs.
After high school, he joined the Air Force and later worked for the railroad. His most notable career achievement was retiring as a captain from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections after 30 years of service. Recently, Butch was working as a trainer at Continental Carbonic Products in Clearfield, Pa. He was known for his strong work ethic, supportive nature and approachable personality.
Butch loved spending time with family and friends; he enjoyed the outdoors, animals, watching sports and taking part in them. He was a loyal Steelers fan, regardless of how they performed that season. He was an honorable and selfless individual who would drop whatever he was doing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed making people laugh, no matter how their day was going. Mostly, Butch touched the lives of everyone. He leaves behind a legacy of love, genuine compassion and a generous spirit that will be remembered forever.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Richard (Cindy) Bibey, formerly of Renovo; sister-in-law, Kim Bibey, of Lock Haven; sister-in-law, Kim McGree, of Clearfield; stepdaughter, Megan (Richard) Owens, and their children, Kara, Hannah and Blake, of Frenchville, whom he cherished as his own grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and his outside cat family.
In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Bibey; sister, Lisa Martinezo; father-in-law, James Jones; and his beloved cat, Chi.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA in his memory.
