Frank E. Jones, 87, of Lock Haven, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026 at UPMC Altoona.
Born Sept. 11, 1938 in Oswego, N.Y., he was a son of the late Clarence E. and Eldora (Meeks) Jones.
Frank attended Fitzhugh Park Elementary School and was a 1953 graduate of Oswego High School.
He proudly joined in the United States Air Force in 1955, completing Basic Training at Sampson Air Force Base in Geneva, N.Y. and his Radio Operator schooling at Biloxi, Miss. He was stationed in Roswell, N.M., Greenland and Guam before his discharge in 1960.
On Oct. 4, 1997, he married his best friend, the former Susan Heckel, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage.
Frank was employed at Hammermill Paper in Oswego, eventually transferring to Lock Haven. He continued his career at International Paper where he was the Supervisor of the “Lucky 13” paper machine.
When he was able, he enjoyed playing racquetball and golfing.
Frank was a Corvette enthusiast. He loved taking road trips with his wife to Lititz where they would visit their niece and her husband, Beth and David Helsel.
More recently, Frank cherished being home with “his pack,” his Siberian Huskies and cats.
In addition to his wife, Susan Jones of Lock Haven, he is survived by his children: Frank Jones of the Virgin Islands, Christopher (Cim) and Patti Jones, both of Oswego, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wesley and Clarence “Sonny” Jones; sisters, Rita Carr and Bessie Fisher; and a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa. 17745. Military Honors will follow.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026 from 12 noon until the time of the service.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends in Oswego, N.Y.
Memorial contributions in Frank’s name may be made to the Clinton County SPCA, Central PA Food Bank or Human Concerns- Oswego, through the funeral home.
