Kirk Bruce Johnson, Sr.
Kirk Bruce Johnson, Sr., 86, of Marsh Creek, passed away Friday, Feb, 6, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Clearfield, Pa. on June 30, 1939, the son of the late Stanley B. and Virginia C. (Kirk) Johnson.
Kirk was a 1957 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
He married first on July 5, 1958 to the former Julia E. White. They remained married until her passing on Aug. 18, 2007. He then married the former Judy I. Shank in 2010.
Kirk was employed by General Refractories in Orviston, American Analine Products in Lock Haven and Ruetgers-Nease Chemical in State College from which he retired in 1994. While at Ruetgers-Nease he developed a sampling device for which he holds a US Patent. Kirk also operated Kirk B. Johnson Woodworking, a pattern shop mainly for hand and machine molds for colonial brick. During his retirement he was instrumental in founding and advising A.S.P. Services, a steel fabrication company started, owned and operated by his son.
Kirk enjoyed hunting, woodworking, riding and tending to his horses, working around the farm and helping his children.
Along with his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, M. Patricia Weaver; his son, Kirk B. Johnson, Jr.; and his brother, David H. Johnson.
Surviving are his wife Judy Johnson; four children: Mark (Melissa) Johnson, of Selinsgrove, Kenneth Johnson, of Marsh Creek, Brenda Johnson, of Blanchard, and Marsha Winslow, of Blanchard; nine grandchildren: Michael Johnson, Corey Johnson, Evan (Marlenne) Johnson, Michelle (Colin) Mosser, Matthew (Danielle) Ballard, Joseph Ballard, Stephen (Margaret) Ballard, Connor (Layla) Winslow and Ian Winslow of Blanchard. and numerous great grandchildren.
Additionally, Kirk will be greatly missed by his wife’s family: Craig Dobson and his children Alexandra, Gabrielle and Ethan; Christy (Matthew) Wellar and their children Samantha (Jason) Sherry, Jessica (Jonny) Cowher and Shane Wellar. Also, numerous step-great grandchildren with whom he enjoyed spending time with.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC. 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.
Interment will be in the Johnson Family Cemetery in Marsh Creek at the convenience of the family.
A celebration of his life for family and friends will be announced at a later date.
