Nicole Janette Hoy

Nicole Janette Hoy, of Harrisburg and formerly Tower City, joined the Holy Spirit on Feb. 14, 2026. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Hoy (Oakley).

Nicole was born in Pottsville on Sept. 27, 1986 to beloved parents, Lori Luckenbill Hoy and Joseph Hoy. She is survived by her brother, Jason Garner (wife Tabitha Garner); twin sister, Megan Hoy Lilla (husband Nathan Lilla); and now joins her sister, Michelle Garner, and grandmother, Norma Hoy, in heaven with beloved dogs Abby and Maggie.

Nicole is survived by many other loved ones, including her grandparents, Kenneth and Janice; stepdaughter, Charlee; nieces, Nakayla, Raelynn and Naomi; and nephews, Nace, Aiden and Connor. She will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including her dogs Daisy & Dora.

She was from Williams Valley and graduated from Downingtown East High School in 2005. In 2009, she graduated from Lock Haven University with her Bachelor of Arts in Communications Media, Public Relations and Advertising and became a reporter and journalist for the Williamsport Sun-Gazette newspaper. In 2018, she graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with her Master of Education in Training and Development. She held a successful career and was currently working as a program analyst for the Commonwealth.

Nicole was baptized at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church on Nov. 30, 1986. Just recently, she became a godmother to her niece Naomi on All Saints Day 2025 at the Holy Name of Jesus Parish.

Nicole’s legacy consists of being a wife, daughter, sister, aunt and best friend. She’s kind, courageous, loving, funny, strong, artistic, smart and adventurous.

A viewing and Liturgical funeral service will be held at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 415 E. Grand Avenue, Tower City, on the fifth day of lent, Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026. Viewing will be at 2 p.m., service at 3 p.m. Light refreshment and time of fellowship will follow in the church social hall.
