Sidney A. ‘Sid’ Coup, Jr.

Sidney A. “Sid” Coup, Jr., 88, of Bellefonte, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at home on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026.

Born on Sept. 20, 1937, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Sidney A. “Sid” Coup, Sr. and Katherine (Mabius) Coup.

On Sept. 21, 1954, he married the love of his life, Fay (Minnich) Coup, who survives at home after sharing 72 years of marriage together.

Sid attended Susquehanna High School in Harrisburg. He started his own business, SC Body Shop, where he was the owner/operator for over 30 years until his retirement. After retirement, he continued to be engaged with his community as a bartender for Bonfatto’s for the next 15 years.

In addition to his wife, Fay, he is survived by their three children, Rosemarie “Ro” Wolfe (Bruce), Sidney A. “Sid” Coup, III, and Corina Johnstonbaugh (John); three grandchildren, Jason Krebs (Sarah), Justin Krebs (Bethany) and Erin Robinson (Jordan); two step-grandchildren, Dustin Snyder (Molly) and Jessica Snyder; 12 great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild, Ryan Snyder.

Also surviving are his siblings, Donald Coup (Joanne), Kathleen Houser (Morris) and Deborah Moyle (Richard).

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jeffery Coup; and a great-grandson, Chayton Robinson.

Sid was a member of Faith United Methodist Church since 1998. Additionally, he was a lifetime member of the Bellefonte Elks Lodge #1094.

He enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing or just doing yard work; he never took for granted the simple aspects of life. More than anything, he treasured the time that he spent with his family.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes St., Bellefonte.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., at the church, with Pastor Andrew Morgan officiating.

Burial services at Zion Cemetery will follow a meal at Faith United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
