Albert C. Karstetter died on Feb. 27, 2026 in Lock Haven.

Albert was born on May 7, 1938 to Morris and Nora Karstetter. He lived in Salona and graduated from Lock Haven High School. He attended Williamsport Tech for Automotive training and began to work at his father’s business, the Star Garage, shortly thereafter. Albert C. Karstetter joined the Pennsylvania National Guard on April 14, 1959, when was 21 years old. He attended basic training with Company C 11th Battalion 4th Training Regiment in Fort Knox, Ky.

Albert became a full-time mechanic in 1966 in Lock Haven, working in the Pennsylvania National Guard Organization Maintenance Shop. In the Pennsylvania National Guard, Albert assisted with clean-up after Hurricane Agnes in 1972, traveled to Manheim, Germany, for Guard training in 1978 and traveled to Baumholder, Germany, for Guard training in 1994. Albert retired from the Guard in 1994. After retirement Albert remained in the community supporting the Clinton County Shrine Club, Beech Creek Bechdel American Legion, the local Model Train Association, Masons Lafayette Lodge 199 and 163, the Consistory of Williamsport Scottish Rite, the Lamar Township Fire Company, the Hospitaller Commandery 46 and the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona.

Albert is predeceased by his long-time fiance, Jean Duck. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service for Albert C. Karstetter will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, 10 a.m., in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Chapel, 1194 Mackeyville Rd., Mill Hall, PA, 17751.
