Anthony D. ‘Tony’ Pentz

Anthony D. “Tony” Pentz, 23, of Cross Fork, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Tony was born on Oct. 3, 2002, in Lock Haven, a son of Mindy J. Ruth, of Cross Fork, and David E. and wife Melissa Pentz, of Renovo.

He was a 2021 graduate of Bucktail Area High School, attending Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport. He also worked at Deb’s Cross Fork Inn.

Tony was a member of the Sons of Italy in Renovo and enjoyed gaming, anime and being outside fly fishing, hunting and playing basketball. He was proud to have been baptized in the United Methodist Church.

Tony had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged. His social spirit drew people in wherever he went, and his quick humor could turn even the most ordinary moment into something unforgettable. Whether he was telling a joke, sharing a story or just laughing with friends, Tony had a gift for lifting people’s spirits. The way he connected with others and brought smiles so easily is something that will always be remembered by everyone lucky enough to have known him.

In addition to his parents, Tony is survived by two brothers, Brody and Corbin Pentz, of Renovo; maternal grandmother, Deborah Ruth, of Cross Fork; paternal grandmother, Winnie Pentz, of Beech Creek; and two kinship grandmothers, Martha Bausshaus, of Cross Fork, and Tami Fleisher, of Renovo.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Pentz, Sr. and Ray Ruth.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, with Rev. Robert W. Pickering officiating.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Following the funeral service, a Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held at Deb’s Cross Fork Inn, 28 Main St., Cross Fork, Pa.
