R. Bruce Peddie, 77, of Lock Haven, Pa., passed away on March 3, 2026, at Williamsport UPMC Hospital.
He was born in Lock Haven to parents Douglas and Evelyn Smith Peddie on Oct. 30, 1948.
He went to Lock Haven High School and went on to study at Williamsport Penn Tech. He worked as a Supervisor of Dying and Picking at the Woolrich Woolen Mills for 45 years. During his time at Woolrich, he served as President of the Beneficial Association.
In his earlier years, in addition to working at Woolrich, he tended bar for the social club of the Castanea Fire Company and continued to volunteer as a groundskeeper, mowing the fire company picnic grounds. He loved cooking for the fire company picnic and enjoyed spending time with his many friends associated with the firehall.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Cathy (Strouse) Peddie; his son, Robert B. (Anna) Peddie, II; and his two daughters, Lori Glossner and Mary Ann Peddie. His grandchildren include Christine Keefer (Sam), Jessica Williams (Conner), Sarah Peddie-Levine (Shaun), Danielle Bennett (Jeff) and Madison Briggs. His great-grandchildren include Ellyanna, Bella, Michael and Fisher.
Bruce is also survived by a sister, Carole Miller (Ken); and nephews, Scott and Jeff.
Bruce enjoyed football, Penn State and Steelers. In his younger years he enjoyed golf and tennis until back issues forced him to give those up and he moved to camping and riding his ATV. He loved spending time at his camper at Quiet Oaks Campground and especially riding down to see all his friends at Jeff's Bar in Cross Fork, Pa. He looked forward to cooking and planning the annual family Christmas brunch.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, on March 9, 2026, from 2-4 p.m.
