VERONICA ROTE
Veronica Rose Mayes Rote, born Aug. 10, 1938, went to be with our Lord on Feb. 28, 2026, in Niceville, Fla.
Veronica (“Ronnie”) was born in Lock Haven, Pa., to the late Lee A. Mayes and Mary A. Caruso Kellerman. Upon graduation from Immaculate Conception High School in 1956, she married Robert K. Rote, Jr. “Bob” enlisted in the United States Air Force and they traveled for 20 years, settling in Jacksonville, Ark. It was their home for 40 years and where they celebrated over 50 years of marriage. Ronnie and Bob were together until his passing in 2008.
Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Ferguson (Dick) and Virginia Morgan; grandchildren, Amanda Fraley, Nicholas Ferguson and David Morgan, Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Charlie Morgan; as well as her sister, Rita Haywood; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Veronica is predeceased by her parents and husband, mentioned above, as well as an infant daughter, Marian Elizabeth Rote.
A private graveside service will be held at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Ark., where Bob is buried, at a later date.
