Catherine M. ‘Kate’ Bowman
Catherine M. “Kate” Bowman, 68, of Mill Hall, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.
Born Jan. 8, 1958, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Helen (Hovan) Riordan.
Kate was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School. On June 1, 1985, she married Craig A. “Bubba” Bowman, who preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2006.
Kate was employed at a variety of places throughout the years, spending her longest tenure at the Lock Haven University cafeteria in Bentley Hall. There, she was affectionately known as “The Omelet Lady,” a title that reflected both her role and the warmth she brought to those she served.
She attended the Howard Pilgrim Holiness Church and cherished the friendships she formed there.
Kate had a vibrant personality and could light up any room she entered. When she wasn’t out socializing, she stayed connected with family and friends through Facebook.
Known for her generous spirit, Kate was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, often putting others before herself.
She is survived by her daughter, Amber (Lance) Waltz, of Loyalsock; her son, Wyatt Bowman, of Mill Hall; two sisters, Nellie (Danny) Eckley, of Jersey Shore, and Mary (Jim) Bathurst, of Clearfield; as well as her beloved pets, her cats, Squiggs and Molly, and her dog, Abby.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kate was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Maisie E. Bitler, on July 4, 2024.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Lupus Foundation.
