Cynthia Jane Greninger

Cynthia Jane Greninger, 79, of Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Born Dec. 30, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Malcolm and Cleora (Eisenhuth) Leiby.

After graduating from Lewisburg High School in 1964, Cindy earned her teaching degree from Lock Haven State College.

While student teaching, she met her love, Richard Greninger, whom she married in 1980.

Cindy was a dedicated English and Drama teacher, teaching at Middleburg for a year and then at Lock Haven Junior High School, retiring after 33 years of teaching. Affectionately known as “Mrs. G.,” students loved her. When she was out-and-about, former students would often chat with her.

She looked forward to traveling to Canada with her family during summer breaks.

Cindy enjoyed reading, movies and going for car rides. She also loved sewing and making wreaths.

In addition to her husband, Richard Greninger, of Lock Haven, she is survived by her son, Wade Greninger, also of Lock Haven; and a nephew, Kevin (Maureen) Stephens, of the York-area.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Stephens.

All services will be at the convenience of her family.
