DENNIS STEVENSON
Dennis Michael Stevenson, 36, of Bellefonte, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.
Dennis was born in Lock Haven to David Sr. and Denise (Culvey) Stevenson, of Lamar.
Dennis attended Porter Township Elementary School K – 2 then went to Mill Hall Elementary 3-5, Central Mountain Middle School and Central Mountain High School. Unfortunately, he did not graduate with his class but he did get his GED the next year, scoring the second highest in the state.
Dennis was a very talented artist, musician, chef and plant enthusiast. He began drawing in grade school and never stopped. His specialty was pencil drawings. In high school, Dennis was known for his art talent and won awards for it.
He learned to play the guitar at the age of 12 and was a member of a couple of bands in his teens. He loved learning new music and playing it for family and friends.
He did not have formal training to be a chef but was self-taught through the 20 years he worked in food service. He enjoyed making elegant dishes and serving his beautiful creations to people.
Dennis was talented in the art of creating Terrariums, Kokedamas and anything involving plants. He loved nature and enjoyed long walks in the woods collecting moss, stones and anything he could use for his terrariums.
As a youth, Dennis was active in Boy Scouts. He joined as a Tiger Scout in 1995 and was proud to earn his Eagle Scout Award in 2006. During his scouting years he had the chance to travel to the Gettysburg Battlefield, The Alamo in Texas, Washington, D.C., and to the Florida Sea Base for the out Island high adventure.
Dennis had a loving partner in life, Rorie Sangster, with whom he shared three years together.
Surviving along with his parents are his nephew, Grayson Sampsell, and many cousins that he enjoyed spending time with.
Dennis was proceeded in death by his brother, David Stevenson, Jr. Dennis was also proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Earl and Carole Culvey; and his paternal grandparents, Donald and Mary Stevenson.
A Funeral Service for Dennis will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 7 p.m., in the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, Pa., with Kathy Deaver officiating.
Family and friends will be received in the funeral home two hours prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dennis’ name may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
