Donna M. Mitchell, 88, of Lock Haven, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence, Williamsport.
Born Nov. 16, 1937 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Esther L. (Shade) Rossman.
Donna was a 1955 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
Later the same year, she married her best friend, Charles T. “Bud” Mitchell, Jr., with whom she shared 48 years of marriage before his passing in 2003.
While still in high school, Donna worked as a nurse’s aid at Lock Haven Hospital and then later was employed by Cohen’s Cleaning. Donna then went to work at the former SusqueView, serving as a nurse’s aide for 13 years. After completing her education at Centre Community Vo Tech, she continued working at SusqueView as a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring in 1997 after 26 years of service. During this time, she was a member of the Practical Nurse Association.
Donna was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, attending St. Agnes Catholic Church.
She volunteered at the Ross Library, reading books to children and using her felt board to tell stories.
Whether shopping or keeping up with her family and friends, Donna loved to keep busy.
Surviving are her children: Charla Bartholomew, Dawn Zimmerman, Charles (Deb) Mitchell, III, David (Dee) Mitchell, Dennis (Beth) Mitchell and Christopher (Deb) Mitchell; brothers, Charles Rossman and Jerry (Linda) Rossman; sisters: Janet Weigel, Barbara Eck and Linda (Peter) Adams; grandchildren: Anne (Ted), Denise (Perry), Matt (Krystal), Seth (Misty), Robert (Tanya), Krystal (Michael), Nicole (Jon), Christine (Erik), Zackary and Zachary; great grandchildren: Corey (Lauren), Kayla (Damon), Taylor (Derek), Delanie (Peyton), Gabby (Aston), Todd J., Levi (Tori), Joshua, Penelope, Porter, Easton and Brendon; great, great grandchildren: Bentley, Scarlet, Connor, Mason, Bo and Baron; and a nephew who was like her son, James (Denise) Peddigree.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Clair Styers; sister, Carol Baier; and son-in-law, Don Bartholomew.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Lock Haven.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
