Donald R. ‘Chip’ Wyant

Donald R. “Chip” Wyant, 76, of Flemington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at The Gatehouse, Williamsport.

Born Sept. 26, 1949, he was a son of the late Donald C. Wyant and June (Conser) Lapp.

After graduating from Lock Haven High School in 1967, he studied auto mechanics.

On June 20, 1987, he married his love, the former Susan J. Smith, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.

Prior to his retirement, Chip was employed at Jersey Shore Steel for 40 years.

Chip was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing with his son, Jon. He also enjoyed cookouts and especially grilling for his family.

After meeting Ronnie Welshans at work, Chip gained a true friend. They spent every Sunday together watching the races and each summer harvesting corn.

His joy in life was spending time with his granddaughter, Sara Galer, and his great-grandchildren, Sophia and Liam. He was a proud great-grandfather who loved them and loved to spoil them.

In addition to his wife, Susan Wyant, he is survived by his children, Jonathan (Jennifer) Wyant, Denise (George) Herrmann, Jennifer Rachau, Steven (Diane) Wyant and Tani (Rich) Miller; his grandchildren, Sara, Samantha, Darin, Herbie, William, Nicholas, Andrew and Alexander; and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Terry (Deb) Wyant and Mark (Kim) Wyant; and sisters, Teresa (Lefty) Robinson and Colleen (Tommy) Wise.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Wyant.

Per his wishes, all services will be private and at the convenience of his family.
