Earl V. Culvey, Jr.

Earl V. Culvey, Jr., 67, of Flemington, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at his home.

Earl was born in Lock Haven, Pa., to parents Earl V. Culvey, Sr. and Carole M. (Newberry) Culvey. He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1976. He went on to join the armed forces serving in the US Army Reserves from 1977-1983.

Earl worked most of his adult life working at Champion Parts in Lock Haven, and spent over 30 years working for HRI, Inc. out of State College. He retired from HRI in 2022.

Earl enjoyed spending time at the family camp, Long Wanted Meadows in the Keating Mountains. He was an avid hunter throughout his life. He enjoyed being with the grandkids at camp and teaching them how to shoot guns. He also enjoyed dirt track racing. Earl was seen at almost every Friday race at the Clinton County Speedway. He also enjoyed going to Port Royal Speedway as well as the Bloomsburg Speedway.

Earl is survived by his two children, Earl (Shanon) V. Culvey III and Beth Culvey Zannella. Earl admired his grandchildren and was truly happy in their presence. His grandchildren are Damion, Sierra and Earl (Vinnie) Culvey; and Devin, Brooke and Elliot Zannella. Earl is also survived by a sister, Denise (Dave) Stevenson, and by two nieces, Carole (Drew) Dullen and Amanda Barner Hoy.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his sister; Kimberly Younkin, and two nephews, David and Dennis Stevenson.

A gathering for Earl’s friends and family will be held at Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC., 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven PA, 17745 on Wednesday, May 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
