Eleanor Lee (Shope) Marasco
Eleanor Lee (Shope) Marasco, 83, of Blanchard, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Haven Place, Lock Haven.
Born April 12, 1943, in Monument, she was a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Mary E. (Gummo) Shope.
Eleanor was a 1961 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On May 28, 1966, she married Joseph E. (Skipper) Marasco, who survives at home. Together they shared almost 60 blessed years of marriage filled with love and true companionship.
Eleanor worked at Bobbie Brooks and for the United States Postal Service as the Post Master Relief in Blanchard. She was Protestant by faith and was a member of the Flemington Church of Christ.
Eleanor was an avid reader and previously served on the board of the Beech Creek Friendship Community Library.
Above all else, Eleanor took pride in being a devoted wife, mother and Mimi. She cherished the time spent with her family — whether it was attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, celebrating milestones, family vacations at the beach or Sunday dinners — family came first.
In addition to her husband, Eleanor is survived by her children, Christopher E. (Cathy) Marasco, of Lock Haven, and Michelle (Johnny Miller) Marasco, of Beech Creek; five grandchildren, Morgan (Max) Fogel, Loren (Collin McConnell) Marasco, Matthew Marasco, Lane Marasco and Brady Fickes; two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Callen Fogel; sisters, Grace E. Shope, of Philadelphia, and Margaret A. Shope, of Blanchard; a sister-in-law, Judith K. Shope, of Beech Creek; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Jane) Marasco, of Blanchard, and Michael J. Marasco, of Mill Hall; along with many special nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, he was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Allen Shope; as well as brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugene and Bonnie Mark.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2 p.m., at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa., with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Schenck’s Cemetery, Howard.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions in Eleanor’s name may be made to either Flemington Church of Christ or Friendship Community Library of Beech Creek through the funeral home.
