RoseAnn Alters, 83, of Pleasant Gap, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on Feb. 11, 1943, in Milesburg, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph and AnnaMarie (Jones) Edmiston.

On April 12, 1980, she married her husband, Gene F. Alters, who was her devoted companion and partner in life.

RoseAnn was a graduate of Bellefonte High School in 1961. She worked as a staff assistant at Penn State University, retiring in 2005.

She is survived by her sister, Darlene Smith (Stan); her three children, Michele Wallace Deter (Thomas), Stacey Wallace Davis (Thomas) and Michael Wallace (Beth); four grandsons, Shane Davis, Zackery Davis (Jordan), Kyle Deter and Nicholas Deter, each of whom brought her tremendous joy.

RoseAnn was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, AnnMarie Rose Davis, Reese Thomas Davis and Cameron Shane Davis, who filled her later years with laughter and light. She is also survived by a nephew, William J. Smith (Carla); and a great-niece, Grace Myers Smith, whom held a special place in her heart.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her resilience and the steady presence she offered to all who knew her. Her family was the heart of her life, and her love will continue to echo through each generation she leaves behind.

RoseAnn was a lifelong member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Post 867 in Pleasant Gap. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting — sharing many of her makings with her family and friends.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5-7 p.m., at Wetzler Funeral Services, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, followed by Memorial Services beginning at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
