Dennis Michael Brungart

Dennis Michael Brungart, of Rebersburg, passed from this life on Thursday, June 18, 2026. He was born July 4, 1948, in Bellefonte, Pa., to parents Earl J. and Martha (Lingle) Brungart. On Jan. 28, 1984, Denny and Mary (Hartley) Brungart were married in the former St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Rebersburg.

Denny is survived by four siblings, Mona Weaver (Ken), of Bloomsburg, Alice Steel (John), of Freedom, Dale Brungart (Carla), of Spring Mills and Gloria Wian (Michelle), of Rebersburg. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Ginny Brungart, of Rebersburg. Denny was preceded in death by his wife on June 11, 2018, his parents and his brother Edward.

Denny graduated from the Penns Valley High School in 1966 and from the mechanic course at the former Vale Tech Institute in Blairsville, Pa. in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1972 with the last 18 months being stationed in Germany.

Denny worked all his life at Brungart’s Garage along with his father and brother, Ed. He loved his family, his cats, country music, yard sales, collecting milk bottles, square dancing, helping with bingo at the fire company and traveling with Mary to many states east of the Mississippi River. Denny was a member of the former St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Rebersburg and served as its treasurer for many years. As per his wishes, Denny will be laid to rest with Mary in the Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery during a private family service.
