Eugene ‘Pete’ Weaver

Eugene “Pete” Weaver, 83, of Howard passed away peacefully in his home on June 25, 2026, surrounded by his family and holding the hand of his wife of 66 years, Deanna (Moore) Weaver.

He was born on Jan. 5, 1943, to Harry and Ruth (Goodling) Weaver, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Gregory and Amber Confer, two sisters, Shirley Krape and Eilzabeth “Betty” Deitz and two brothers, Leroy and David Weaver.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Timothy Weaver, Shelly Wike and Loretta Weaver, all of Howard, one sister, Janice Rainey, of Waterville and one brother, Kenneth Weaver, of Howard, 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Pete enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting, and fishing on many lakes in Canada. He was a life-long farmer who willingly shared his knowledge and skills of raising livestock and crops, butchering, gardening, canning and so much more. He was a hard-working man starting by driving a milk truck at the age of 16 while working at Hanover Cannery and as a certified ABS breeder. He also worked at Piper Aircraft, owned the Exxon Station in Howard and drove truck for Moore’s Metal Yard, Central Valley Transportation and Davidson Brother’s. He purchased his own truck and became the owner/operator of Weaver Trucking, adding three more trucks. He served as the Curtin Township Supervisor for many years. He was a proud member of the Bellefonte Masonic Lodge. He loved to read and had a passion for war history. He was very loved and will be deeply missed by many.

There will be a public viewing held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 6-8 p.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. 135 W. Main Street, Howard, PA 16841 and on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 10-11 a.m., at Romola Bible Church, 2328 Marsh Creek Road, Howard, PA 16841.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Romola Bible Church with Pastor Daniel Longmore officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Romola Cemetery, Howard, Pa 16841.
