Timothy E. Welch

Timothy E. Welch, 85, of Blanchard, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Born on April 23, 1941, Tim was the son of the late Marjorie (Gardner) Welch and Raymond Welch and was also lovingly raised by his stepfather, Milford Gardner.

He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Welch, of North Carolina; his sister, Donna Thomas and her husband, Gary, of New Jersey; his significant other, Corinthia Brungard; and many nieces and nephews. Tim also considered Jennifer and Derek Kiene part of his family and cherished Elizabeth Brungard and Audrey Kiene as his grandchildren.

Tim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education with a concentration in social studies from Lock Haven State College and also attended Pennsylvania State University. He dedicated 36 ½ years to educating students at Jersey Shore High School, where he taught social studies and served as department chair for a number of years. His commitment to education and his students left a lasting impact on countless lives throughout his career.

A proud veteran, Tim served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. He was an active member of Beech Creek American Legion Post 623, where he held a variety of leadership positions, including post commander. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Masons, attaining the 32nd Degree, and was honored with his 50-year membership pin this past year.

Tim enjoyed gardening, hunting and spending time with friends at the Legion. He valued friendship, service and community and enjoyed sharing stories, discussing current events and supporting his fellow veterans. He had a deep love for his country, a strong sense of conviction and remained steadfast in his beliefs throughout his life.

Tim will be remembered for his devotion to family, his distinguished career in education, his military service and his commitment to his community. A proud patriot and devoted Republican, he believed strongly in the values he held dear and was never afraid to stand by them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In accordance with Tim’s wishes, there will be no public services.
