CARRIE PACKER

Carrie Packer, 91, of Lock Haven, Pa., went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2026. She passed away at home.

Born on March 11, 1935, in Jersey Shore, Pa., she was the daughter of Ira Edward Packer and Mahalda (Holt) Packer, who predeceased her.

Carrie graduated from the Mill Hall High School in 1953 and immediately embarked upon a career in retail. She was a reliable and valued employee who, over a span of 44 years, was employed by W.T. Grant, Gee Bees and Value City.

Carrie was a life-long member of the Hillview Wesleyan Church in Flemington, Pa and attended faithfully until her health issues made it difficult for her to leave the house.

Carrie was a kind, loving and gentle soul. People were drawn to her positive attitude, her generous heart and her infectious spirit. She was deeply devoted to her family and had a special way of forging relationships across all generations. She was exceptionally good at connecting with her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Everyone loved Aunt Carrie.

Carrie is survived by three sisters, Esther (Don) Rauch, of Salona, Pa., Doris Packer, of Lock Haven, Pa., and Grace (Leon) Bidwell. of Harpersville, N.Y.; 18 nieces/nephews and 30 great-nieces/nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Lois (Bill) McKissick, Elsie (Charles) McClintick, Edward (Dorothea) Packer, Henry (Norma) Packer and Phyllis (Kenneth) Lynn.

Funeral services will be held at the Hillview Wesleyan Church, 1200 W 4th St, Lock Haven, PA on Thursday, July 9 at 11 a.m., with Reverend Kenneth Lynn officiating and assisted by Pastor Donald Grant. Family and friends will be received in the church 1 hour prior to services.

Burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UPMC Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd, Williamsport, PA. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to UPMC Hospice Care for their exceptional care. Their hospice team was skilled, loving and incredibly sensitive to Carrie’s needs, and the family could not be more grateful.
