Charles Martin Slopey, Jr., (aka Carthy, Chuck) passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Chuck was born Aug. 12, 1938, in Mill Hall, Pa. He was the son of Charles Martin Slopey and Mae Bressler Slopey.
He was predeceased by brothers, Donald P. Slopey and Fred Slopey.
He is survived by his sister, Audrey J. Slopey Barnes, of Sebastian, Fla., and many nieces and nephews.
Chuck was well known in his youth for his dancing.
Chuck obtained a degree from Lock Haven State College, then he served in the National Guards. After his stint in the National Guards, Chuck became an entrepreneur and was the owner of two book stores, one in State College and one in Lock Haven.
Chuck later owned The Eden Lounge and brought wonderful entertainment into the Lock Haven area. During that time, he was known for his generosity and fun-loving spirit.
Chuck enjoyed traveling nationally and internationally, visiting friends and family. He later retired to Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Chuck will be missed by all who knew him.
