Ellen G. Strouse, 86, wife of Eddie A. "Ed" Strouse, of Fishing Creek Road, Mill Hall, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.
Born on March 29, 1940, in Logan Mills, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Myrtle (Geise) Moyer.
She was a 1958 graduate of the former Sugar Valley High School, Loganton, Pa.
Ed and Ellen celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in September of 2025.
Ellen was an active member of the Clintondale United Methodist Church, serving with the Women's Group. She was formerly employed in the manufacturing businesses of First Quality, Woolrich Woolen Mills and Clinton Paper Company.
Ellen enjoyed quilting, sewing and creating many baby blankets for family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and canning. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Along with her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Annette Salisbury (Phil Boob), of Clintondale, and Melissa Burkheimer (Jim), of Beverly, Ohio; a son, Ed D. Strouse (Betsy), of Loganton; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Naomi English, of State College.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Vera Bair, Elizabeth McCauley and Eunice Jeffries.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July, 18, 2026, at 11 a.m., in the Clintondale United Methodist Church, 103 Fishing Creek Road, Clintondale, PA 17751, with Rev. Daniel Christopher officiating. A viewing will be held in the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
Final interment will be held in St. Paul EUB Cemetery, Logan Mills, Pa.
If desired, memorials may be made in Ellen's name to her church.
