Mary Kate Workman Bechdel, 81, of Lock Haven, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, July 10, 2026.
She was born Oct. 19, 1944 in Lock Haven, a daughter of the late Harold and Mary Holter. She was a graduate of Lock Haven High School.
Mary Kate worked for many years at the former Lock Haven Silk Mill and Champion Parts before being employed at SusqueView Home, retiring in 2009.
On April 15, 2016, she married Dave S. Bechdel, who survives at home. She was previously married to Raymond "Bill" Workman, who preceded her in death.
Mary lived a life centered on her family. She found her greatest joy in her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She loved cooking for her family as well as spending time at her family cabin. Mary enjoyed mountain rides, beautiful sunsets, the moon and cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Eagles football team.
She will be lovingly remembered for her warm kitchen, generous heart and devotion to those she loved- including her beloved dog, Willie.
In addition to her husband, Dave, she is survived by her children, Audrey Fenstemaker (Brian), of Castanea, Charleyne Sedore (Terry), of Lock Haven, Billee Fisher (Mike), of Williamsport, Darice Workman (Jeff), of Lock Haven, Wylie Workman (Jenn), of Williamsport, Wade Workman (Kim), of Rauchtown, and Justee Workman (Doug), of Castanea; step-son, Randy Bechdel, of Lock Haven; sisters, Dorothy Renninger, of Connecticut, and Connie Allen, of Lock Haven; 18 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A private memorial dinner will be held at the family's convenience.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County SPCA, 33 Mill Hill Road, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
