Robert N. Haupt

Robert N. Haupt, 91, of Bellefonte, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Centre Care.

Born on March 27, 1935, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Charles "Mac" M. Haupt and Dorothy W. (Beckwith) Haupt.

On Oct. 6, 1956, he married his beloved wife, Rose Marie (Morrison) Haupt, who survives after sharing nearly 70 years of marriage.

Robert was a 1953 graduate of Bellefonte High School. After school he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from October 1953 until he was honorably discharged in October 1955. Upon returning home, he went to work as a purchasing agent for Raytheon until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Rose, he is survived by their children, Cathy Wehrman (Joseph), of Macungie, Pa., and Susan Kranch (Jeffrey), Ann Grove (Nevin, Jr.) and Chris Haupt, all of Bellefonte; six grandchildren, Brian Wehrman, Andrew Wehrman (Mary Kate), Matthew Wehrman (Emily), Craig Ripka (Melinda), Michelle Beckenbaugh (Daniel) and Sarah Rose Grove; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Haupt (Erma) and James Haupt (Betty).

Robert looked forward to annual trips with the family to Rehoboth Beach. He loved being outside -- whether he was gardening, playing golf, going for a run, hunting or fishing -- he never missed an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Robert also enjoyed working at Bonfatto's at the Grange Fair each year.

More than anything, he loved his family. He treasured the time that was spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert leaves his loved ones with countless memories that they will forever hold dear in their hearts.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte. The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Benjamin Haupt officiating. Burial services will immediately follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Bellefonte.
