Ruby Lenore Welfling, 96, passed away peacefully at the Heartland Retirement Home in Woolrich, Pa. on May 9, 2026.
Ruby, born Jan 12, 1930, was the daughter of Grover and Betty (Mercedes Goldie) Schumann. She was the wife of Stanley Edward Welfling, Sr.
Ruby was predeceased by her daughters Beth, Sue and her son Stanley E. Welfling, Jr., commonly known as little Eddie (her favorite).
Surviving is her sister Punk Haner; and her daughter Joan Welfling; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Ruby was originally from Akron, Ohio and moved to Pigeon Hill, Potter County, home of the infamous Pigeon Hill Panthers and the Pigeon Hill Piss Ants. Ruby was a member of the St. Matthaeus Lutheran Church and the ladies auxiliary fire company in Germania.
Ruby co-wrote "Germania... Our Heritage – 1855-1995. "
After the death of her husband, she moved to Lock Haven, Pa., to live with family.
