Timothy Keith Johnson passed away on Tuesday afternoon, at the age of 67, surrounded by loved ones at his home in McElhattan.
Born on Dec. 20, 1958, to Charles and Beverly Johnson, Tim grew up in McElhattan with his brothers, John and Chris, and his sister, Carrie Ann.
He married Brenda Lee Fritz in 1980, and they shared over 45 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife; three children, Jay (Ashley) Johnson, Jeremy (Carleigh) Johnson and Laura (Nathaniel) Gilbert; and four grandchildren, Wesley, Aubreigh, Charles and Christopher; as well as countless pets.
He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, crack-shot and lover of nature, as much as he was an honest and dedicated family man. His significance to the people who knew him was immeasurable, as evidenced by all who would drop everything to spend time with him. A multitude of family, neighbors, childhood acquaintances and members of the McElhattan Pathway to Christ Church, were proud to call him friend. His time on this earth may have been cut short, but his impact was vast and his legacy permanent.
To quote a favorite film: "This man was brought up in a time of blood and dying and never questioned a bit of it. He never turned his back on his folks or his kind. I rode with him...I got no complaints."
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 19, at the McElhattan Pathway to Christ Church, 514 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan, Pa. Visiting hours are at noon, with the service beginning at 1 p.m.
