Dana J. Larson, 78, of Swissdale, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, at UPMC Williamsport.
Born Feb. 22, 1948, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Thelma (Howenstine) Helbley.
Dana was a 1966 graduate of Lock Haven High School and continued her education at Lock Haven State College.
She served as a 911 dispatcher for Clinton County.
In her younger years, she was the lead singer and electric pianist for the band Interstate Transient Express.
Dana enjoyed crocheting and baking. She was also an animal lover -- whether it be her pets, wildlife or simply birdwatching.
Surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, John J. and Tanis (Hamberger) Helbley, of Swissdale; her nieces, Taryn (Justin) Polk, of Lock Haven, and Alyssa Andrews, of Linden; two great-nieces; and three great-nephews. She also leaves behind her good friends, Kim Garlick and Harry Rippey.
Her life and legacy will continue through those whose lives were changed by her decision to donate through Gift of Life.
A Memorial Service for Dana will be announced at a later date.
