Germaine H. Weaver, 94, of Lock Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026, at Haven Place, Lock Haven.
Born August 24, 1931, in Lilly, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Legoria and Evelyn Fresch Hutzel.
Germaine was a graduate of Sugar Valley High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Lock Haven State Teachers College. She later continued her education at Penn State University, where she earned her master's degree.
She married Elmer Weaver, who preceded her in death in 1967.
Germaine began her career as a kindergarten teacher, a position she held for one year, before finding her calling as an elementary school librarian. She devoted 26 years to serving the students of the Keystone Central School District before retiring.
She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the Lewis Carroll Society, the Heisey Museum and the Friends of the Ross Library. Germaine had a lifelong appreciation for history, literature and the arts. She especially enjoyed collecting Lewis Carroll and Charlie Chaplin memorabilia, as well as spending time gardening.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Weaver, of Bellefonte; two sisters, Marilyn Welshans, of Loganton and Joan Long, of Boalsburg; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Weaver, of New Jersey, Thomas (Shari) Schrack, of State College and Dr. Katie (Alex) Schrack, Poor, of Philadelphia; and five great-grandchildren, Emily and Eli Schrack and Evelyn, Sullivan and Griffin Poor.
In addition to her parents and husband, Germaine was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Ann Schrack, and her sister, Gretchen Musser.
A memorial service honoring Germaine's life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745, with Pastor Tom Jones officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions in Germaine's memory may be made through the funeral home to the Ross Library.
