Michael E. Henry, of Woolrich, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital after spending the last 10 months with his family in Clarion.
Born April 16, 1947, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Marshall Edward and Jane (O'Donnell) Henry. Growing up in Lock Haven, he played on the Little League All Star team.
Mike graduated from Lock Haven High School where he was on the track team and played football. He then went on to complete Barber School.
In 1968, he joined the United States Navy. Stationed on the USS Hampshire County and the USS Oak Hill, he served in Vietnam until being Honorably Discharged in 1970.
Mike was employed at Piper Aircraft and then Woolrich Woolen Mills before being hired by Schweizer Aircraft Co. in Elmira, N.Y. He worked there as control expeditor for 23 years, retiring in 2009.
He attended the former Liberty Methodist Church.
One of Mike's favorite things was being a member of West Branch Hunting Club, and the many friends he made during the time he spent there. He also had great stories from his mornings drinking coffee with his friends at various places in Lock Haven through the years.
Special blessings to his friends who stayed close during Mike's health struggles. Your kind words and cards lifted his spirits. Mike fought every step of the way to return to all of the activities he loved so much.
While he was a collector of watches, his true passion was trains -- especially model trains.
Surviving is his sister, Marsha (Robert) Bubb, of Clarion; and nieces, Jill McDermott, of Clarion, and Susan Bubb, and companion, Mark Endy, of Douglassville; as well as grand- and great-grand-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, at 3 p.m., at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, with Military Honors following. Private interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lock Haven, Pa.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Clarion Forest VNA or Clarion Cancer Center through the funeral home.
