Carolyn Kay Hockenberry, born April 19, 1960, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026 at her home.
Carolyn lived the last 9.5 years of her life with her common-law husband, Robert "Bob" Hunter; his daughter, Megan; and his three grandchildren: Nicole, Viviannah and Liam. She was also close to Bob's three sisters: Rosa Kilmer and Sherry Devinney, both of Canton, and Debra Sechrist, of Ralston.
When three, Viviannah saw Carolyn on her reddish easy chair, walked up to her and said "You're Momma Red Bird." The name always stuck.
Carolyn often spoke about raising her family in Beech Creek, but she was especially proud of her career as a travel agent with Triple A, Nittany Travel and American Express.
She will be always missed and loved -- especially by Bob and his family.
