Janice (Glossner) Saar, 87, widow of Allen L. Saar, of 21 W. Summit St., Jersey Shore, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026.
Born in Beech Creek on Feb. 26, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Alice (Peters) Glossner.
She was a 1957 graduate of Lock Haven High School and was a member of the Pine Creek Valley Christian Church, Jersey Shore.
Allen and Janice were wed on Sept. 30, 1960 and shared over 60 years of marriage together at the time of his passing in 2020.
She retired in 2000 after many years as the head teller of Northern Central Bank, now M&T Bank.
Janice enjoyed attending sporting events, especially of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, playing cards with family and attending functions at the Senior Center in Lock Haven. She was an avid MLB baseball fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.
She is survived by two sons, Tim (Amy) Saar, of Jersey Shore and Tom (Kimberly) Saar, of Lock Haven, two daughters, Karen Crust (Terry), of Jersey Shore and Susan Leitz (Rick), of Farmington, MO., 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brothers, Gene, William, Robert, Kenneth, Bruce, Richard and Keith Glossner and her sisters, Doris Dixon, Shirley Confer, Phyllis Emenhizer, Vickie Rhoades and Ruth Jackman.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., in the Pine Creek Valley Christian Church, 26 Locomo Ln, Jersey Shore, PA 17740, with Rev. Ron Savits officiating. A viewing will be held in the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service. Final Interment will be held in Jersey Shore Cemetery. If desired memorials may be made in Janice's name to the church.
