Lois G. Heckel, 98, formerly of Loganton, and currently of Windsor, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, after a brief stay at Celebration Villa of York.
Born May 8, 1928 in Loganton, she was a daughter of the late Forrest and Hazel (Barner) Lamey.
On May 9, 1949, she married her love, George E. Heckel, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage before his passing in 1999.
In her early years, she was employed by Sylvania and Cobbler's. Then, for 25 years, she worked in private home care.
Lois was an active member of Albright United Methodist Church where she was a volunteer with the Blood Mobile.
In addition to gardening, she loved baking- especially her raisin-filled cookies which she graciously shared with family and friends.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Jean and Leif Ericson, of Windsor; grandchildren: Jennifer Wilt, Shawn Miller and Tristan Ericson; and six great grandchildren: Savannah, Sahara and Noah Wilt, Reese Miller and Ezra and Iris Ericson.
Also surviving are brothers: Franklin, Forrest, Jr., John and William Lamey and sisters: Louise Frankenberger, Vivian Weaver, Eleanor Young, Kathleen Brungart, Darlene Carey, Connie Royer and Mary Brungard.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Miller; brother, Robert Lamey; and sisters: Nancy Blevins, Sara Heggenstaller, Janet Meyer and Helen Gentilman.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 11 a.m., at Albright United Methodist Church, 47 E. Main St., Loganton, with Pastor Ken Geisewite officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Loganton.
Friends and family will be received at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
