Robert Lewis Saiers, Sr., 90, of Lock Haven, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Sept.18, 2026.
Born on Aug. 3, 1936, in Lock Haven, to the late Lewis and Pauline Saiers, Robert graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1955. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served honorably from August 1955 until August 1959.
After his discharge from the Marine Corp, he went on to have successful and fulfilling careers working at Piper Aircraft for over 20 years and then as a prison guard for the state of Pennsylvania, retiring in 2000.
Robert had a deep passion for fishing, beagling, rabbit hunting and watching Penn State football. He was a long-time and very active member of the Bald Eagle Beagle Club and was very well known among the beagling community.
Robert treasured his time going on fishing trips to Canada and fishing area small lakes with his wife, Dolly. Robert was also known for his outstanding character, keen wit, warm smile, generous spirit and infectious personality.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Shari Lynn Wooster; a granddaughter, Angela Garcia; and a daughter-in-law, Robin Saiers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; a brother, Richard Saiers (Kathy); a sister, Darla Stark; sons, Jon Saiers (Brenda) and Robert Saiers, Jr.; and step-daughters, Tina Harpster (Nevin) and Sue Fidler (Bill). He was also blessed with six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren whom he greatly cherished.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
