David F. Dreese, Sr., 84, formerly of Beech Creek, Pa., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, at Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley.
Born in Lemont, Pa. on March 8, 1942, he was the son of the late Frank and Hilda (Leathers) Dreese, of Milesburg. He graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1960.
David served in the United States Navy as a Submariner from 1960 to 1964 and retired from the United States Army Reserve. He also retired from Penn State University, where he worked as an electrician. He was a longtime member and supporter of the Howard Lions Club.
He is survived by his five children: Dave Dreese, of Coburn; Becky Dreese, of Centre Hall, Matthew, Brent and Stephen Dreese, of Texas, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Dreese and his wife, Geraldine, of Milesburg, and his sister, Alyce Wells, of San Mateo, Fla.
A private burial will be held at Eagle Cemetery in Milesburg.
The family thanks the Memory Care staff at Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley and the team at Advantage Home Health & Hospice for the care they provided to David.
