Dorothy Sylvia Reeder, 102, of Muncy, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, at The Williamsport Home. She attended Salona High School and later went on to become a training supervisor at Weldon in Williamsport for 16 years. Dorothy was married to her husband, Jack R. Reeder, for many wonderful years until his passing on July 4, 2005.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who enjoyed crocheting, gardening and making wooden toys. She also had a huge sweet tooth, especially for Hershey's Milk Chocolate bars. Her nurturing side also extended to babysitting for her grandchildren and others over the years.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqulyn Blair, of Muncy, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, Dorothy is also predeceased by her daughter, Loretta Hessler; granddaughter, Kimberly S. Hessler Gordon; brothers, William Toner, Doyle Toner, and Paul Toner; and son-in-law, James Blair.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home – Hughesville, 557 E. Water St., with Pastor Robert Bieber officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made in Dorothy's name to the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars).
