Emily J. Weaver, 96, formerly of Jersey Shore, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, at Oak Glen Healthcare and Rehab Center, Lewisburg.
Born Nov. 5, 1929, in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter to Guy Crist and the former Nellie Shaffer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Donald Kent Weaver, on Sept. 9, 1999. They were united in marriage on April 22, 1950.
Also preceding her were two brothers and two sisters.
Emily graduated from Jersey Shore High School and continued her education at Lycoming College and Lock Haven University where she earned her teaching degree. She taught for 20 years in the Jersey Shore School District.
She resided in Jersey Shore and later in Lock Haven and Lewisburg. She was a member of various choirs and loved to sing. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Emily enjoyed camping, gardening, knitting, making baskets and was in the Jersey Shore Garden Club. She loved getting together with family and friends. She loved her dogs and Penn State Football.
She is survived by her son, David K. (Barbara) Weaver; her daughter, Marie E. (David) McNamara; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private.
