Mary Louise (Grove) Greene, 100, of Bellefonte, passed away at home on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026. Born on Oct. 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Helen (Stover) Grove. On Oct. 25, 1940, she married her beloved husband, Kenneth I. Greene, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 23, 2015, after sharing nearly 75 years of marriage.
She devoted her life to creating a warm and loving home for her family and her church.
She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Spotts (Kermit), Lola Thompson and Holly Keen (Bruce), all of Bellefonte, and daughter-in-law, Debra Greene; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are her half-siblings, Robert Shuey (Bonnie), Marie Corrigan (Sam) and Janice McDowell (Dennis).
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Kenneth Greene, Jr. and Randy Greene, a grandson, Brett Allen Greene, a granddaughter, Stephanie Greene, a sister, Marjorie Brooks and a brother, Nevin Grove, Sr.
Mary was a member of the former Coleville Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed watching football and baseball, specifically Penn State, and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. In her free time, she enjoyed working on word search puzzles and doing cross stitch.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Dave Hersh officiating. Burial services will directly follow at Meyer Cemetery in Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary to the Logan Fire Company No. 1, 120 E. Howard Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
