Steven G. "Steve" Thompson, 63, of Howard, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026. Born on July 31, 1963, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Richard P. and Janice L. (Houdeshell) Thompson.
Steve was a 1981 graduate of Lock Haven High School. He was of the Methodist faith. He began his working career at Gundlach's, then to Clasters, and finally at Bald Eagle Beer Distributor. He retired in 2023.
Steve enjoyed the simple things in life. He liked being outdoors, fishing and hunting, especially hunting moose in Newfoundland. He liked watching the Phillies play baseball and cheered on Penn State football, although he wasn't too pleased with this year's season. He was an avid reader. He got a lot of pleasure just hanging out with his friends, family and the dogs, Tink and Poppy.
Steve is survived by his two brothers: Rodney Thompson, of Blanchard and Keith Thompson, of Howard; two sisters: Kathy Thompson, of Howard and Kimberly Thompson, of Woodbridge, Va. He is also survived by his nephew, Andrew Thompson and his wife, Morgan, of Blanchard and by a great niece, Cora.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Rich and Janice.
Public visitation will be on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, from 10a.m. 12 noon followed with a funeral service at 12 noon with Pastor Catherine Dittman officiating at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Milesburg. Burial will be private at Schencks Cemetery in Howard.
