Barbara G. (Gardner) Muthler, 92, of McElhattan, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, at her residence.
Born May 29, 1934, in Blanchard, she was a daughter of the late Forrest E. and Margaret I. (Glossner) Gardner.
On Sept. 28, 1956, she married Kenneth E. Muthler, of East End, Lamar Twp. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2024. They celebrated 68 years of marriage together.
Barbara worked for the Clinton County Register and Recorders Office and retired after many years of service.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce A. Muthler, of Salona, and Scott F. Muthler, of Castanea; a daughter, Carole D. (James) Frankenfield, of Moraga, Calif.; four granddaughters, Kellie (Jake) Carson and Jessica (Luke) Royer, both of Pittsburgh, and Kate E. and Leah Frankenfield, of Moraga; and six great-grandchildren, Cameron, Franklin, Genevieve, Louis, Brady and Vivienne.
Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald T. and Franklin D. Gardner; and three sisters, Betty L. Reidlinger, Lois I. Rachau and Natalie A. DeGarmo.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to Noon, at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.
Following the visitation, graveside services will be held in the chapel at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Lamar Township. Officiating will be Lay Servant Susan Hunter.
