Each Saturday, The Express community newspaper highlights people, groups and activities our readers deem worthy of applause.

THANK YOU to all of the volunteers from Sugar Valley Lions Club members, community members, family, friends, neighbors, church members, co-workers, complete strangers and Bingo players, as well as, to all that donated food, monetary donations and baked goods for our Spring 2026 Bingo fundraisers. We look forward to seeing you all again for our Fall 2026 Bingo events the second Friday in September, October and November.

All proceeds from these events will be given to families or individuals in our community with needs they alone cannot handle.

The Sugar Valley Lions Club cannot thank you nearly enough for the support from each and everyone that helped make these Bingo events successful. Thank you so much for your support.

THANK YOU to congregation members at Flemington’s First Church of Christ for their donation of yarn to the Prayer Shawl Ministry at the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall.

I especially want to THANK Alison Kramer for her willingness to co-ordinate the yarn collection drive at her church and for delivering the yarn to us at the May Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is extremely thankful for the churches and individuals who have brought yarn to us for our needleworkers to use.
