Earth Day reminds us each year of how precious our natural resources are.
They are life-giving.
It should convince us all to be stewards of a clean environment.
And it makes us mad at the lazy people who pollute, notably those who throw their garbage out of their car or truck windows.
We see it a lot.
And it is the result of laziness, ignorance and apathy.
We live in a fast-food society.
Heck, many of us have little patience anymore to even read or see something through.
Our brains appear to be more and more wired to spin and constantly pivot to issues, things and people in our lives and not take time to think about the ramificaitons of what we're doing.
An empty soda or beer can discarded along the road.
Packaging from a fast-food place strewn about an intersection.
Americans generate and throw away more waste than any other nation in the world.
It's estimated the average American produces 1,704 pounds of garbage per year -- nearly one ton, or three times the global average.
Please, on this Earth Day and every day, be a steward, not a polluter.
