Our View: Be responsible; vote tomorrow

1 min read

Time to cast your vote tomorrow, May 17.

This 2022 Primary Election and every election in our great nation provide a means for political candidates to keep you -- the voter -- accountable.

Hah!

And you thought it was the other way around!

Well, it is -- and it works both ways.

People run for elected office to keep voters accountable.

People vote for candidates to keep them accountable.

Do you want better and more effective government?

Do you want your tax dollars to be spent wisely?

Do you want common sense decisions by your local, state and national elected representatives?

Ask yourselves these and other questions as you go to the polls today.

And make sure you're informed about all of the candidates.

What are their positions on issues you care about?

And please, inform yourselves the best you can about candidates.

Those who win party nominations from tomorrow's vote will be on the ballot in November to compete directly for the job.

Please don't allow your frustration with our political system prevent you from going to the polls.

We need all citizens to participate.

Voting is a responsibility all Americans must take seriously to uphold our collective and individual freedoms.

Starting at /week.
