Woodward Township and its Lockport Boat Launch and Riverview Park are ground zero!
Congratulations to the township for accommodating these wonderful visitors.
In all, it's expected people from 18 states (and counting), Australia and Germany are competing.
Last night's races included a biathlon.
Also, competitors were given a tour of the river.
Today's events feature a 250-meter sprint for all ages and a 3-mile course for kids..
There will be "Orienteering" -- a scavenger hunt that will send the participants along the river in search of clues.
There will be single-person races and team races.
Races will continue Saturday and Sunday, with awards ceremonies following the races each day, at roughly 1 p.m.
If you run into any of these competitors, make sure to say hello and offer them thanks for coming.
And tell them they are welcome to visit anytime!
